Fern Lake is a true gem and a fantastic hiking destination. Nestled in a beautiful cirque with Notchtop Mountain and Little Matterhorn providing a spectacular backdrop, the lake is a pristine and peaceful oasis. The surrounding landscape, shaped by the 2012 Fern Lake Fire, adds a dramatic and fascinating element to the scene. It’s a challenging but incredibly beautiful and rewarding hike.
