The Elk Park Trail is the start of one of Colorado's most epic and iconic adventures. After being dropped off by the narrow-gauge train in the middle of the wilderness, this is the trail you'll follow into the magnificent Chicago Basin. The trail itself is a beautiful 6-mile journey, following the Animas River and then climbing into the spectacular basin, the basecamp for several of the state's most remote 14ers.
