A very popular and beautiful hike in the Indian Peaks Wilderness that leads to a stunning high-alpine lake.
The hike to Diamond Lake is a Front Range classic for a reason. Starting from the 4th of July Trailhead, the trail climbs through beautiful forests and past historic mining ruins before opening up into a spectacular alpine basin. The destination is the magnificent Diamond Lake, a pristine gem nestled below the rugged peaks of the Continental Divide. It’s a challenging but incredibly scenic and rewarding day hike.
