Black Bear Pass is the stuff of off-roading legend. This one-way-downhill trail is one of the most difficult and dangerous in North America. After crossing a 12,840-foot pass, drivers face the infamous "Steps," a section of tight, exposed switchbacks dropping precipitously towards Telluride. While not a hike, it's a world-famous, white-knuckle adventure that provides an adrenaline rush like no other.
