Whether you start from the east or the west, the Arapaho Pass Trail is a spectacular adventure. The eastern approach from the 4th of July Trailhead is a steep, classic climb into the alpine tundra. The western route from Monarch Lake offers a longer, more gradual journey past waterfalls and historic ruins. Both culminate at a magnificent pass on the Continental Divide with unforgettable, sweeping views.
