Begin your adventure at the picturesque Monarch Lake and follow the Arapaho Pass Trail on a grand journey to the Continental Divide. This longer, more gradual route from the west side is a backpacker's favorite, passing by historic mining ruins and beautiful waterfalls. Reaching the pass, you're rewarded with magnificent views stretching out across the Indian Peaks Wilderness. It's a classic, rewarding Colorado hike.
